    Never should you need two 12"x12" flues for one fireplace. Having twice as much drafting-space actually makes an unsafe situation and creates a large possibility for a backdraft. We eliminated the unnecessary flue after tearing 19 courses off of the chimney, and then rebuilding and pouring a concrete crown.
