About Taylormaid, LLC

Taylormaid truck and goosneck dumpster trailer

Short version:
Taylormaid, LLC has been around since 1981 is proud to be into it's third generation!  We are a tightly knit company where every employee is treated like family (and some of them are family!).  We love what we do and take pride in our work.
Long Version: Story time!
While working at Packard, Dave Taylor got a call that there had been a chimney fire at his home. After calling around, he was unable to find a qualified technician within a resonable distance of his home in Champion, Ohio. So, Dave decided to attend classes and seminars to learn the code and intricasies of how a chimney should work and be built or repaired.  His son, David, was only 8 at the time and took quite a liking to helping work on the family chimney and would help his father on jobs quite often. Thus, Taylor and Sons was born in 1981. Dave continued working at (and eventually retiring from) Packard and performing chimney sweeps and repairs to help cover the costs of raising 4 kids. David continued to learn by attending the Joint Vocational School, enlisting in the Navy SeaBees (construction batallion), and attending chimney certification classes and seminars. Naturally, David took more and more control over the business since his father already had a full time job, and in 2001, the business was officially handed down to David. David also added hauling to the business, and to reflect that the business was centered around cleaning out your chimney OR your junk (as well as paying homage to the family name), he renamed the business to Taylormaid LLC.
Today, several of David's own kids are involved in different capacities of the business (one of which, has typed out this paragraph and built the website). The pride of continuing the reputation of our family business and the knowledge passed down of how and why to work things in a particular way is an asset that can't be matched by many other chimney companies in NE Ohio.
